Australia’s Cannes Contenders: JWT Sydney, CHE, Melbourne and Whybin\TBWA, Melbourne
After last year’s brilliant effort at Cannes – Australia was ranked #6 in the world – how will OZ perform at Cannes this year?Over the next two weeks in the lead up to the Festival, Campaign Briefwill be showcasing the work we hope will impress the judges…
CHE, Melbourne
This spot focuses on the damage that can be done toour marine life with chemical cleaners we use in the home. Earth Choiceproducts are specifically designed not to do this.
Whybin\TBWA, Melbourne
The agency launched a Back to School campaign for its Clarks school shoes brand in 2010, which touched on the reality and emotion of a kid’s first day at school. Standing in the garden or the front porch, the kids wearoddly oversized clothes their mothers no doubt plan for them to growinto but their all-important shoes are the perfect fit.
JWT Sydney
Lifesavers, the iconic ring-shaped candy have been helping Aussies geta whole lot more out of summer with a national outdoor and radiocampaign aimed to help saveAustralians from summer shame by offering a range of humorous, yethelpful, tips. Faux pas such as fake tans, the pitfalls of asking a mate to rubsunscreen into your back and of course budgie smugglers and thepoliticians who wear them feature in the campaign. But perhaps thegreatest hazard that male beachgoers faced in summer was post-swimmingshrinkage. After all, the Aussie cossie leaves little, if anything tothe imagination.

You know what should be considered a faux pas? Using the term budgie smugglers. Advertising has completely exhausted the word and pointing out that wearing them ain’t cool.
