It’s like walking in on your Grandad having a wank.
Just goes to show that even the best agencies can produce average work.
What’s the connection between “important personal and business investments, goals and resolutions” and origami?
Must’ve missed it, sorry.
And there I was thinking this was just fancy animation covering up for the complete absence of an idea.
Very bad origami.
Everything old is new again. 1991 AWARD book. Page 273. Same client, only they didn’t need to for around the world and pay a premium for it
And its a much more relevant execution.
Interesting that Erik Vervoegan, Goodbys star hire to make CBA creative better was smart enough to keep his name of these…
Looks like Goodby and Grandad need a hand.
Incredible work and very imaginative.
the irony is that if you had these on your reel you wouldn’t be hired at goodby.
Determined to be so different that they use origami. Yes, very different. Never seen that before.
why would anyone pr this?
aside from the boring idea, it looks like it’s pre-rendered work. Shocking execution.
The 1991 AWARD book versions were beautifully animated, shot and art directed.
These are mediocre by comparison.
integration [ˌɪntɪˈgreɪʃən] n.
1. the act of taking a pretty ordinary banner idea and turning it into a very ordinary 15 sec TVC campaign.
Don’t blame the agency from your lofty creative towers. The client here has to take responsibility, even great agencies can only do the work the client allows them to do.
12.11 I don’t think anyone is speaking from lofty towers here.
Of course even the very best agencies do mediocre work as part of paying the bills.
The point is you don’t showcase such work in arenas like this one.
much better work than BMF
Even this is better in execution http://adsoftheworld.com/media/tv/webster_five_origami
Which Bank has the biggest bag of money to waste?
I saw Art & Copy.
How can THIS come out of THERE?
Rog,
Every agency in the world does mediocre work. Goodby, W&K, Mother, 180, Droga, BBDO NY, everybody.
The trick is to make sure the dross never gets PR’d in the creative media. And then PR the crap out of the stuff that’s really good.
For many agencies with good creative reps, you’d be looking at 80% mediocre, 10% crap and 10% great.
It’s called paying the bills, and keeping cash flowing through the agency, so you’re geared up to take advantage of the good clients and briefs.
Just because Goodby said some nice things about creatively in a doco, doesn’t mean he isn’t driven by commercial realities as well.
This seems more interesting than the other banks work in Australia?
More like Badby Bronzestein on this one.
