Rural Bank launches first national campaign
Leading rural and regional bank, Rural Bank, has launched a national advertising campaign via agency Nicknack, Adelaide, spearheaded by two television commercials that take a unique look at farming in Australia.
The campaign uses highly sophisticated imagery to capture rural lifeand agribusiness in a way that has not been done before and comes sixmonths after the bank underwent a major rebrand, changing its name fromElders Rural Bank and completely overhauling its brand identity.
Nicknackcreative director Nick Price said that a key objective of the campaignwas to recognise the seasonal changes that impact agribusiness, andensure that this was reflected in the imagery: “Fundamentally we wantedto demonstrate Rural Bank’s true understanding of rural life andagribusiness, so it was critical that we captured the seasonal aspectsof farming.
“For this reason both commercials were shot across a period of nearly three months, and in
more than 10 different locations across Australia,” he said.
Creative will appear across most mainland regional television networks and will be supported by
press advertising in rural press publications nationally.

“a unique look at farming in Australia”
Since when is cows, tractors, sheep and sunsets an unique look at farming?
Nice editing.
looks a lot like rabobank
could be the NRL ad
Who’d have thought cows, sheep and farmers could look so glamorous?
“uses highly sophisticated imagery …. in a way that has not been done before”
Eh?
But I suppose, this is South Australia we’re talking about. “highly sophistcated imagery” means “moving pictures”. And “a way that has not been done before” means “with a camera”. Very new technologies for crow-eaters.
Which begs the question: What state helped them put a press release on the interwebs?
Looks honest enough to actually trust them!
8:56 that is hilarious. Also love the use of ‘cunt’ in the tagline.
I guess it’s in the vein of advertisers, like yourselves, to totally disregard the target market, who oddly enough, are familiar with cows, sheeps and farm material.
Press release aside, which is just doing its job, the campaign is well shot and lifts the brand.
