The Work 2021 Contenders: TABOO

Campaign Brief recognises and showcases the great work that is being produced in the region with The Work 2021 Contenders…

Coopers: Live, Loud & Local
TABOO
When the COVID hit, it impacted two Australian industries more than any other: hospitality and the arts. Together with Coopers, we created Live Loud and Local – a live streamed entertainment program to support local pubs and homegrown artists, chefs and entertainers.

Conceived and executed in under 3 weeks during lockdown, the show became the top trending livestream 5 times and gave millions of home-bound Aussies a reason to sing, dance and crack open a Coopers.

Telstra: Australian Dice Football League
TABOO
When AFL announced the suspension of the 2020 season, Taboo and Australia’s fastest network responded with appropriate speed. Knowing nothing can replicate being at the game, we wanted to bring back the competition, entertainment, rituals and sense of community that our nation-in-lockdown was yearning for.

The Australian Dice Football League engaged footy players in a brand new sports code that could be played at home with nothing but a dice and Australia’s best 5G Network.

Transport Accident Commission (Vic): Left Unfinished
TABOO
Nobody expects to die or get seriously injured on the road – so when it does happen, it’s shockingly sudden. In the wake of these tragic moments, the reality is often fully realised via the smallest, simplest and most mundane parts of life- those abruptly left unfinished.

Together with the TAC and Road Trauma Services, TABOO created an interactive AR-enabled gallery experience that showcased seven items from seven lives that were forever changed by the road. Through “Left Unfinished”, we gave voice to these 7 victims and their families, enabling them to share their stories as a profound reminder to all road users.

Transport Accident Commission (Vic): Split Second Film Competition
TABOO
The Split Second Film Competition is an annual initiative that challenges young Victorians to submit a concept for a road safety film tackling the issue of phone distraction. The winning script for this year took a medieval approach to road safety with Logie winner Firass Dirani, produced in partnership with Airbag.

The Work 2021 Contenders: TABOO

Coopers: Hazy IPA rebrand
TABOO
Inspired by the colour palette of everyone’s favourite drinking season, late spring, TABOO designed Coopers limited release Hazy IPA. Intended to recruit new drinkers, the packaging needed to express the distinctive mandarin and grapefruit flavour profile while feeling inherently Coopers, retaining the size and position of the legacy roundel.
