Mint Films expands its roster welcoming directors Tristan Houghton and Tom Spark
Sydney’s Mint Films has been going from strength to strength over the past year. Since appointing Abby Dorrian as head of new business, the team has been producing work for the likes of M&C Saatchi, DDB and BMF. As part of this continued growth, the team welcome aboard two highly experienced directors, Tristan Houghton and Tom Spark to broaden its roster.
Says Nick Mutton, producer at Mint: “Tristan and Tom’s visual and storytelling styles complement not only each other so nicely but also Mint Films’ broader body of work. As a growing company, it’s so important to us that we expand our team with creative storytellers and we can’t wait to see where this partnership takes us.”
Houghton (left) is a cinematic and highly visual storyteller of meaningful narratives on location with real people. His stellar work includes pieces for Mack Trucks, Corona, Dodge and Gold Coast Tourism.
Says Houghton: “I’m really excited to be a part of a team that is hungry to do great work and also understands that the way we execute our jobs needs to evolve as the requirements from our clients do.”
Spark (right) meanwhile is a performance lead narrative director with a slightly darker comedic sensibility. Over the years, he’s lent his style to brands like KFC, Qantas, Vodafone and Auckland Transport.
Says Spark: “I am very excited to be joining Mint Films. In this interesting time for commercial video production, they are the right combination of size, passion, infrastructure and experience to provide the support I need to ensure I can do great work no matter what the budget.”
The new directors join Mint Films director and co-owner Andrew Seaton, who says: “The expansion of our director’s roster is a testament to the growth we’ve been experiencing in the last few years. Tristan and Tom are incredible storytellers and I’m excited to see where it takes us as a production company.”
