M&C Saatchi Sydney and SDWM Melbourne creatives take Gold at Young Glory Round 4
M&C Saatchi Sydney creatives Rubini Gun (right) and Jardin Anderson (left) and SDWM Melbourne’s Bella Plush and Sebastian Covino, have taken out top place in round four of Young Glory.
They were followed by fellow Australian teams Kyle Lotherington and Aaron Bethune from Deloitte Digital Melbourne who won a Silver and Finalist, and Claire Herselman and Maria Torres from Ogilvy Sydney who also nabbed a Finalist spot.
Young Glory is a worldwide creativity competition that runs for eight months and awards creative consistency. In round four, the brief asked participants to use Facebook and its platforms to persuade unregistered people to sign up and vote in the 2020 US presidential election.
The team from M&C Saatchi used Facebook advertising space as an incentive for businesses encouraging them to allow employees to leave work and register to vote.
The round was judged by RETHINK creative directors Maxime Sauté and Xavier Blais. The judges noted: “We evaluated every submission with our own criteria for evaluating ideas at Rethink C.R.A.F.T.S., asking ourselves is the idea Clear, Relevant, Achievable, Fresh, True and Shareable. We gave Gold to the executions that we could start producing tomorrow and that could make a real dent in the problem of voting and voter registration in the States.”
The Round was judged by Rethink Canada’s Maxime Says Sauté and Blais: “We were very impressed by the level of submissions.
“We gave Gold to the executions that we could start producing Tomorrow and that could make a real dent in the problem of voting and voter registration in the States.”
Says Gun and Anderson: “Since the 2016 US election, people have been a little suspicious of Facebook – the trust just isn’t there. So we decided to look at the platform as one of the world’s largest advertising companies rather than just a social network. Our idea defers the responsibility of promoting the vote onto other businesses, all while helping Facebook rebuild its reputation behind-the-scenes.”
This is the second time Gun and Anderson have placed in the competition making the finalist list during round one.
The seventh round of Young Glory is now live, with a brief from Spotify creative director Noel Yeo.

@goodgriefcampaignbrief sod off you troll. If you can’t say anything nice about young hardworking creatives having a crack, just piss off and prove how clever you are elsewhere.
