Gabberish #10: The Money Issue
This month, Gabberish delves into an issue that impacts us all: Money.
With advice from one of the industry’s biggest champions of creatives, Esther Clerehan, and former McCann Australia chairman and CEO, Ben Lilley (pictured), who shares his perspective on how the industry is fairing financially—and how to make it pay.
Leo Burnett Melbourne GM, Naomi Gorringe, talks progressive pricing; Broadsheet editor, Ellen Fraser, joins us for Life on the Other Side; and we hear from young creatives at CHE Proximity and Clemenger BBDO about grappling with money and other prizes at the start of their careers.
Gabe & Jono are back with Not Money Bingo—who will win them all? The Money issue also includes the usual quality array of gifs, illustrations and essays. There’s even an ode to Bob the Builder.
Says Siobhan Fitzgerald, Gabberish founder and ACD at M&C Saatchi Melbourne: “Creatives are often kept in the dark about the business side of advertising, and naïve about what we’re worth. So this issue we decided to pull our heads up out of the sand and start talking big bucks.”
Says Jess Lilley, Gabberish co-editor and CD at Leo Burnett Melbourne: “Money is a marker in our careers that things are progressing. But it’s not always in our control so can bring both joy and anxiety. Interviewing my brother for this issue was enlightening—we’ve both always chased creativity but he’s had a much more healthy respect for money along the way.”
Gabberish will be putting out a new issues every 2 months.
