Screen Shot 2018-11-13 at 9.23.17 am.jpgJ. Walter Thompson, Melbourne has made several redundancies a month after the departure of executive creative director Kieran Antill, who left in October after nearly three years with the agency.

When contacted CB received the following statement from the agency: “J. Walter Thompson Melbourne can confirm that a small number of staff have left the agency following a review of client demand against its resources. Client needs of the agency have evolved and while in response, we’ve made several new hires across CRM/CX, Social, Design and Retail, we regretfully also had to make some roles redundant. Fortunately, being a member of the WPP AUNZ group, we’re able to explore opportunities for these individuals with our partner companies and we are hoping a number of those staff involved will be offered roles within the coming weeks.

“We always endeavour to avoid making redundancies, but as with any agency, there are times when for the health of the business, it’s regretfully something we have to do. This decision is not taken lightly and out of respect for those involved we have no further comment to make.
