SPLINTR and Commonwealth Games Association create brand new campaign for Gold Coast 2018

madi.jpgSPLINTR has collaborated with the Commonwealth Games Association to create a campaign to run leading up and into the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.

The CGA approached SPLINTR with the idea to create a content campaign that touched on the values and importance of being part of something bigger, transcending the pursuit of individual success.

pip.jpgThe ‘Greater Together’ campaign features six Australian athletes Anja Stridsman – boxing, Pip Malone – weightlifting, Emma Sykes – Rugby Sevens, Sawan Serasinghe – badminton, Declan Stacey – diving and Madison De Rozario – wheelchair racing.

6 individual athlete films were produced and complimented by a main hero campaign spot. Shot over 5 days, the campaign aims to give the Australian public an insight into the athletes, their Games preparation as well as a personal perspective of being a member of the Australian team.

Says Amelia Peacocke, EP, SPLINTR: “Having worked in the industry for many years, I don’t feel a job of this nature would have been possible without the collaborative efforts of the Splintr team. Instead of the very traditional and linear approach of one director being on the project, Gavain Browne and Luke Farquhar worked as a finely tuned directing duo. This allowed Splintr to turn around seven films in 3 weeks including pre, allowing us to offer great economies. One director would prep, while the other was shooting, before swapping roles the next day. The amazing crew stayed constant throughout lead by DOP Josh Flavell.”

The ‘Greater Together’ campaign comes off the back of a busy 6 months for SPLINTR with a diverse slate of projects completed including a bespoke experiential activation for Mattel at Westifled Bondi Junction, the commercially lauded ‘Value of You’ campaign for TAL Insurance (which was the first content campaign commissioned by the insurer via Illuminate Sydney) and a worldwide launch for international cult cycling brand Attaquer.

SPLINTR is a creative and experience pod based in Alexandria, Sydney.
